Five value broodmares on offer at Karaka
08 May 2017Trelawney Stud will offer five broodmares at the 2017 NZB National Weanling, Broodmare and Mixed Bloodstock Sale on Tuesday.

The first to go under the hammer is multiple winning mare lot 327, Vitesse Rose (Flying Spur x Rogan's Gem). She is in foal to ShamExpress who's freshman crop were well received at auction earlier this year selling up to A$300,000 at Magic Millions and $510,000 at Karaka.  

A daughter of Rogan's Gem, who is the dam of four foals, all winners, Vitesse Rose's  first foal is a weanling colt by Atlante.

Lot 380, Gemini (Tale of The Cat x Twin Town) (pictured with her 2015 Ocean Park filly) hails from the family of British Group One winner Midday, Group Three winner Confront, and Irish 3yo Champion colt Elmaamul.  In foal to proven sire Showcasing Gemini represents an exciting breeding investment.

Five time winner Genuine Offer (Generous x Bluiski) will go through as lot 381.   She is a half-sister to Kings Honour (Bon Amie-SING) who was Group placed in New Zealand and a stakes winner in Singapore, and the stakes placed Satay and Catlagh.

Genuine Offer is the dam two to race and carries a positive test to Rock 'n' Pop.

Lot 415 is the well-related Miss Danewood (Danehill x Foxwood).  This mare is a daughter of Group One winner Foxwood, making her a half to Group Three winner Rockwood.  There has been many significant updates to the pedigree of Miss Danewood since the catalogue went to print including her 2012 foal Produce Me Late (StarCraft) having placed twice in Australia. 

The dam three winners, Miss Danewood has a nice early service date to Contributer setting her up well for the 2017 breeding season.

The final broodmare to go through is lot 466 Starring (Stravinsky x Showtime).  Another carrying a positive test to Contributer, Starring is from the family of Group One winner Iflooxcouldkill and has had progeny sell for up to $240,000 at previous NZB sales.
