Trelawney lost an old friend this week with
grand mare I’m In Heaven (Volksraad) passing away.
Owned by Judi Wanless, I’m In Heaven was a
six-time winner in Australia and went on to be a fabulous broodmare producing
six winners from seven to race, including Peter Moody’s Group One Oaks winner
Lights Of Heaven (Zabeel) (pictured) who also won four times at Group Two level.
Spirit of Heaven (Savabeel) has
also been a flag bearer for the mare, having won four races in Australia.
Simply Heaven (Savabeel), the
three-year-old filly from I’m In Heaven, debuted this week running second at
Pakenham for David Brideoak. She looks to be a horse with a promising future.
I’m In Heaven left behind a lovely Savabeel
filly who has bonded well with her foster mum, Mark Lupton's standardbred mare Sofia Loren. This is a great testament to the fostering service and the excellent job they do.
A wonderful mare for Judi and Trelawney, I’m
In Heaven will be missed and her legacy will live on through her daughters who
will continue to improve and already impressive pedigree.
