Bryce Heys is keen to unleash Spieth (Thorn Park x Stella Livia) down the straight at Flemington on Saturday and the young Sydney trainer has booked Craig Williams for the ride.
Spieth has created a strong impression recording back-to-back wins in New South Wales and is making a return to Victoria this weekend, the state where he started his career at the beginning of the season.
"I'm keen to see how he goes down the straight, all along this preparation I've wanted to take him to Flemington and Saturday looks the perfect opportunity," Heys said.
Spieth missed a run at Royal Randwick a fortnight ago with Heys electing to scratch his talented three-year-old with 60kg.
"He was first emergency for two races and didn't get a run in those so there wasn't much I could do about that," Heys said.
"Looking at the race that he was in, there didn't look to be too much speed and Snowden's horse (Yuma Desert) appeared as though it would get a soft lead with no weight on its back and that is the way the race panned out.
"I've been able to keep him ticking over nicely in the past couple of weeks and he is nice and fresh for Saturday."
Heys has Spieth nominated for two races at Flemington but he is keen to target the three-year-old 1100m.
"Saturday will tell us a lot in terms of what we are going to do with him going forward," Heys said.
"He has only had three runs this time in, he is still lightly raced and I wouldn't mind following on to the series final at Flemington two weeks later if he suggests he is up to it." racing.com
