Sad passing of Real Success
11 Mar 2016

Trelawney are sad to announce the passing of Real Success (Success Express).  At 26 years of age Real Success had been retired from breeding and was living out her final years in the all-important roll as a nanny.  In 2014 she proved to be a wonderful stand in when taking over mothering duties of the La Ferrand foal (pictured).

Real Success lived up to her name on the racetrack, winning the Gr.2 Cambridge Jockey Club Dulcie Stakes, and twice at Gr.3 level for Frank and Shaune Ritchie.  An outstanding commercial breeder, the progeny of Real Success amassed near on $2million in the sales ring.  This promise was realised as her foals went on to prove themselves at the track.  The dam of six winners, her most notable offspring was Gr.1 Queensland Oaks winner Vouvray.  Real Success was also the grandam of Gr.1 Thorndon Mile winner A Touch of Ruby.  The influence of this great mare will continue to be seen in the Trelawney broodmare band for years to come.

As one of Brent’s favourite mares she will be sadly missed and will join Trelawney’s other illustrious past residents when laid to rest on the driveway.
