Karaka day two summary
27 Jan 2016With the Premier session of the NZ Bloodstock sales at a close Trelawney have successfully sold the majority of their yearlings and retained a top 10 spot in the leading vendor by aggregate rankings.
The second day of the Premier session was a busy one for the team with 11 going through the ring.
The highest price lot of the day was the O'Reilly x Martini Red colt who went to Victorian based trainer Darren Weir and bloodstock agent John Foote for $250,000. This is a lovely type of colt from a family with strong Trelawney connections. Both Martini Red and Pernod were bred and raced by the Taylors.
The same buying combination went to $220,000 for the Savabeel x Heat Storm colt, the Choisir x Line of Flight colt making the same price tag when knocked down to the Queensland based Sona Bloodstock.

We were thrilled to see long time friend and client Deborah Ho outlast the competition to purchase the Ocean Park x Luna Tudor colt, this is a family she knows well having purchased Luna Tudor off the track before on selling her to the Taylor family as a broodmare.
The top priced filly of the day was the O'Reilly x Lillet sold on behalf of Raffles Racing. Making $100,000 she has joined the Go Racing stable.
"We are thrilled with the result as they are a successful outfit and she will be given every chance" said Brent Taylor.
